- A scholarship proposal will be presented for approval at the voters meeting in November.
- Children’s sermons will be added now that we have more children attending church services.
- The church will proceed with fixing the water issue in the basement of the parsonage with the bid obtained from B-Dry.
- In 5 years the stain glass window in the back of the church will need to be evaluated for repair. The person doing the evaluation of what it will take to repair this window will send an estimate in 2-3 weeks on the cost.
- Painting needs to be finished and eve troughs completed.
- The coils on the refrigerator and freezer have been cleaned.
- The outside door frame to the trash room needs to be repaired or replaced.
- Water came into Pastor’s office after the last rain storm, may need to add some eve’s trough’s to route water away.
- The Council approved the proposed 2020 budget for presentation to the congregation.
- We have the application forms for the Coyne Oil program in the information box in the narthex and information will be added in the bulletin and newsletter. Completed forms should be turned into the office where membership will be verified and form sent on to Coyne Oil.
- First community organization selected for support is God’s Helping Hands at Zion. They provide clothing, household items and food to those in need. Underwear and socks are usually not collected as used items. We are asking our congregation to donate these items for children when the Zion Choir comes to Immanuel on November 3. An announcement will also be placed in the Zion bulletin during October. A free will offering will be taken to purchase these items from anyone who cares to make a financial donation. A Thrivent Action Card has been received to help purchase food and supplies for the luncheon that will be served after the service on November 3.
- There will be a luncheon after church on December 15, 2019. Donations received during that event will benefit the Breckenridge-Wheeler-Merrill food pantry. Items that can be used by the pantry will be published in the bulletin and newsletter.
- Pastor has arranged for the Teen Challenge group to sing at a service in January. Lunch will be served and free will donation received.
- The Council voted to split the fund donation half to Helping Hands at Zion and half to Breckenridge-Wheeler-Merrill food pantry.
- There are three upcoming dinners planned, November 3 and December 15, 2009 and one in January 2020.
- Ladies Aid Society is planning another Mother and Daughter Tea in September 2020 and will invite the Methodist Church to join. Card parties are also going to start up again this fall/winter.
- Requests for support from the seminary fund were received as well as a request from the Saginaw Rescue mission. The Ladies Aid Society supports both of these organizations.
