Greetings Friends and Family of Immanuel,
A couple updates for you all. First, per Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order, Immanuel is closed for services until Easter (at least). We’re still going to order Easter flowers with the hope that we will have Easter service on April 12th.
That being said, if the shelter-in-place order is continued, you will be able to pick up your flowers at church, and we will celebrate Easter when we can safely gather together.
Second, I’m in the process of setting up a YouTube account that will contain devotionals from me to you, as well as the last Sunday’s service. Unfortunately I am dealing with some big files and slow internet speeds, so it is taking longer than I hope. Keep looking here and on our website (https://wheelerimmanuellutheran.org/) for the links once they get posted.
Third, Thrivent has a $1 million online donation challenge. From now through June 30, 2020, Thrivent will be providing an extra $1 for every $2 donated for the first $1 million in donations made through Thrivent.com. Details can be found at their site. This would enable you to continue with your offerings during this troubled time.
Finally, if anyone needs help during this time picking up groceries or prescriptions, please call me at 724-650-3427. I am more than happy to make the runs for you. With the ability to order for pickup at both Meijer and Walmart, the point of contact by which the virus might spread are minimized.
