The Ladies Society hosted an In Gathering Baby Shower at church on Sunday, September 20, 2020, to benefit Pregnancy Services of Gratiot County in Alma. Thanks to the generous donations of our Ladies Society, our church members and a Thrivent Card from Tami Mosher, we were able to gather over $700 worth of baby items!
These beautiful donations included over a hundred baby clothes in sizes Newborn to 3T, bibs, shoes, handmade blankets, quilts, afghans, burp cloths, dozens of disposable diapers and many packs of baby wipes. In addition, many bottles of baby shampoo, baby soap, baby lotion and tubes of diaper cream were donated. 25 gift bags with adult body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and soap were assembled to be given to the clients, along with Thrivent T-Shirts and notebooks.
At the end of the service, Danielle, from Pregnancy Services was our guest speaker and shared with us how clients can earn points from watching educational tapes, reading books and testing and use these points to purchase items like our church donated, from their Baby Pantry.
Many thanks to everyone who helped with and donated to this event, to Tami for applying for the Thrivent Card, to Linda Weburg and Nancy McCaullum for helping us advertise, and to Carol Locke for the beautiful posters she created and the packing bags she provided.
A special thank you to Pastor Michael for always being enthusiastic, supportive and so positive when it comes to our fundraisers!
