As we continue to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Immanuel Lutheran Church, we are excited about the many activities planned throughout 2025. This milestone offers a time to reflect on the blessings and rich history of our congregation. Our anniversary theme, “God with us Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow,” serves as a reminder of the ways God has been faithful to our church for over a century. Here are some of the key highlights from the coming months:
125th Anniversary Celebrations:
The year-long celebration kicked off in January with a wonderful reception that included cake and refreshments. We are planning special services throughout the year that will reflect on the church’s history, including memories of past members and clergy. Look for these special moments in our Sunday services and throughout our Sunday bulletins.
Upcoming Events:
- February 9 – Thrivent Baked Spaghetti Dinner:
Following Sunday service, join us for a Valentine-themed dinner of baked spaghetti. A freewill offering will be taken to support Faith Comes By Hearing, a non-profit that produces audio versions of the Bible in various languages to reach the illiterate populations of the world. Their goal is to complete this ambitious project by 2033. - February 22 – Scrapbooking Fundraiser:
Immanuel is hosting a Scrapbooking Day from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The $25 fee will support our 125th Anniversary events. Whether you’re a seasoned scrapbooker or just starting out, this will be a fun and productive day for a great cause! - March 2 – Thrivent Dinner:
The Ladies Society will host another Thrivent dinner after the service, with a freewill offering to help fund the flower barrels outside the church. This meal will also mark the beginning of our Lenten journey. - Lenten Fellowship & Potlucks:
Join us for Lenten potluck dinners on Wednesday evenings before our Lenten services. These meals will be a time of fellowship, where we can share a meal together before diving into the reflective nature of the Lenten season. Don’t miss our special Easter breakfast potluck, served before Easter Sunday service. - April 20 – Easter Breakfast:
Join us for an Easter breakfast before our Easter service. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with fellow members.
Other Upcoming Celebrations:
- Summer Picnic:
We are looking forward to hosting a Sunday picnic this summer, complete with grilled hotdogs, games, and activities. This will be a great opportunity to enjoy some outdoor fun and fellowship with church family and friends. - Food Pantry Collections:
Throughout the year, we will be collecting donations for the Breckenridge, Hemlock, Merrill, and Wheeler Food Pantries. This outreach effort is one way we can support our local community during our anniversary year. - September 125th Anniversary Celebration:
Be sure to mark your calendars for our special anniversary celebration this September. It will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this important milestone together.
Throughout 2025, we are committed to offering food and fellowship at least once a month, and these events will be opportunities for us to come together as a community, celebrate our history, and look ahead to the future.
